Paul Kagame, the president of Rwanda, was hosted by Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye during a basketball game in Dakar, the country’s capital.
The match, which featured Rwanda’s APR Basketball Club and Senegal’s AS Douanes, took place on Sunday night. The Basketball Africa League is where both teams are playing.
Mr. Kagame is one of the first heads of state to travel to Senegal since Mr. Faye, 44, took office in April as the continent’s youngest democratically elected leader.
According to the Rwandan administration, the goal of the president’s visit to Senegal is to strengthen bilateral relations and advance collaboration in a number of areas, such as trade, tourism, and governance.
